On Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 from 10 am to 4 pm (rain or shine) HistWick will sponsor a captivating, self-guided tour of the town’s most beautiful gardens. During the event, the Plum Beach Garden Club will host a Garden Marketplace in the charming greenhouses on West Main Street that’s sure to enhance visitors’ garden tour experiences. A dedicated group of HistWick and Garden Club members are busy planning and organizing these events that will undoubtedly be outstanding. So mark your calendars now and invite family and friends . . . there’s more to come!


Tim Cranston Walking Tours

February 22ndRome Point History/Seals ‘walk and talk’ will meet at 2 pm at the Rome Point Chaffee Preserve parking lot. Bundle up and wear comfortable shoes; it’s still winter!


April 25th: Tim will offer again The History of the Stained Glass Windows at St. Paul’s Church. This was a very popular and well-attended talk last year that we were asked to repeat.


June 6th A Nature and History Walk in the Woods—hike along the tracks of the Newport & Wickford abandoned railway line from Lafayette to Belleville and learn about the area’s interesting history, while stopping to study the area’s flora, and perhaps a few fauna.


August 8thThe Story of South County’s Agriculture

We’ll provide more details on HistWick-sponsored spring and summer ‘walks and talks’ as the time nears.

Get into the Holiday Spirit in Wickford Village

On the weekend of December 7th through December 9th join the merchants and businesses of Wickford for The Festival of Lights when Wickford Village welcomes Santa Claus and offers a myriad of other activities that gets everyone into the holiday spirit. It’s a favorite family activity. The local businesses help keep our community strong; we appreciate their planning and commitment to bringing us together. So please support them with your business.
